In a recent study on the bioRxiv preprint server, researchers developed and tested novel bispecific antibodies (bsAbs) containing both the N-terminal domain (NTD) and the receptor binding domain (RBD) to combat emerging SARS-CoV-2 variants. These antibodies, derived from monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) obtained from convalescent donors who had previously received monoclonal antibody-based vaccines, were evaluated for efficacy against the virus.

Researchers from MIT, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and Harvard Medical School have devised a potential treatment for alopecia areata, an autoimmune condition causing hair loss. They created a microneedle patch that can be applied to the scalp, releasing drugs to rebalance the immune response and halt the autoimmune attack, offering hope for patients with this condition.
